Professional and Educational Background
Tiffany Cate is a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Child Mental Health Specialist. She obtained her B.A. in Psychology from Texas Tech University in 1991 and her M.S. in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX in 1996. Tiffany has worked in public schools as a special education teacher and as a school psychologist.
Since moving to Washington in 1997, she has worked as a mental health counselor in residential treatment, as a therapist/case manager in a community mental health agency, and as a case manager for Children’s Programs for a community action agency. She has served as a contact therapist for a social service organizations, Child Sexual Assault program providing individual, and group therapy for children and adolescents. She has contracted with a Chemical Dependency treatment program to provide individual and group outpatient treatment to adolescents and adults. She has also served on the board of a nonprofit organization which helps to provide group and individual therapy to children and their families who are experiencing grief and loss.
