Tara Ettlin, M.S.

Professional and Educational Background

Tara Ettlin (she/her/hers) holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Western Washington University. Tara has been working in the mental health field since 2004 in a variety of settings including community mental health, as a behavioral health consultant in healthcare clinics and private practice.

Tara values utilizing a client centered, collaborate approach to therapy. She believes that therapy is a powerful opportunity for clients to cultivate change and deepen awareness. Tara creates a compassionate and accepting therapeutic environment where clients can feel safe to explore personal growth. Tara is sensitive to how oppression impacts mental health and identity and values providing trauma informed care. Tara has training in a variety of therapeutic modalities including CBT, mindfulness-based therapies, Lifespan Integration, EMDR and IFS. Tara speaks Spanish and values serving the Spanish speaking community.

Tara is a passionate advocate for the LGBTQAI+ communities and provides a safe, affirming and non-judgmental environment where individuals can feel supported and accepted to explore their identities. Tara values respectful, inclusive care for all individuals and practices through a lens of social justice and inclusion.

Personal Information

Tara enjoys exploring and engaging in movement practices and has studied yoga for over 20 years. She keeps grounded with a daily meditation practice, and enjoys caring for plants, gardening, baking and spending time with her dog.
