Therapist

Judith K. Lemon, M.A.

Professional and Educational Background

Judith K. Lemon, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, earned her M.A. in Psychology from Antioch University in 1987. Her undergraduate degree included studies from WWU and UW. She also holds national certification in employee assistance programming (CEAP).

Judy has practiced in this community for over 25 years, working as a therapist for the Whatcom Counseling and Psychiatric Clinic, a biofeedback technician/therapist with a pain management clinic, and in private practice.

Judy’s qualifications include extensive training in gestalt therapy and self-psychology; bio-behavioral training in the management of headaches and chronic pain; brief solution-focused therapies; and advanced training in critical stress debriefing of trauma victims. She has also completed training programs in biofeedback and stress management, EMDR, Thought Field Therapy, grief and loss issues, and anger management. Judy continues to work in the employee assistance field and has also created and taught a variety of classes for businesses.

Judy believes that individual and emotional healthiness is a balance of the person’s social, physical, psychological, and spiritual life. To this end, she supports and encourages her clients to explore their relationships, experiences, and past/present beliefs; to understand and accept their histories; and to set goals that enhance self-acceptance and healing. She believes that success is accomplished through a team effort that includes the individual and ongoing communication between her/his physician and therapist.
