| Professional and Educational Background |
Mark Morgan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with an extensive background working with children and families. Mark earned his BA from Western Washington University in 1984 while also volunteering as a Hospice counselor. He earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California in 1988.
Mark has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings including the Community Counseling Center in Santa Barbara, the Martin Center Psychiatric Treatment Unit in Bellingham, the WWU Counseling Center, and the psychiatric practice of Robert Watson, M.D. in Bellingham. He has post-graduate training and experience in family therapy, play therapy, EMDR, brief solution-focused therapy, and has completed the Children’s Mental Health Certificate Program from the University of Washington. Mark also has certification in Early Childhood Education and was a staff teacher at the Orange Coast College Children’s Center in Costa Mesa, California for seven years.
Mark’s approach to treatment is based in family systems theory but also includes cognitive/behavioral and psychodynamic therapy techniques.
Mark works with children, adolescents, adults, and families needing assistance with the following types of issues:

- Childhood and adulthood ADHD
- Parenting issues
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Recovery from traumatic events
- Grief and loss
Mark is married and has two children. He enjoys hiking with family and friends, skiing, carpentry and woodworking. |
