Treatment Philosophy

Dr. Chasnoff is a client-centered therapist. She believes that every individual has basic goodness and the ability to grow. Her goal as a therapist is to help clients cultivate a better conceptualization of self, others, and life circumstances and to facilitate clients' cultivation of a deep and lasting friendship with themselves. She does this by offering empathy, unconditional positive regard, being her authentic self with each client, and having faith that every client innately knows what is needed to move his or her life in a positive direction. As someone who is interested in healing through the integration of body and mind, Dr, Chasnoff works to improve clients' attunement to their bodies by offering tools such as relaxation, meditation, breath work, and yoga when clients find this to be useful in their therapy.

Personal Information

In her leisure time, Dr. Chasnoff practices meditation and yoga. She enjoys novels and film, and is presently challenging herself to make her bicycle her main mode of transportation. She lives in Bellingham with her husband Doug and their feline children, Simon and Fiona.
